This playful indoor structure was designed as a charming miniature café where imagination, movement, and role play come together. Inspired by the familiar setting of a London neighbourhood coffee shop, the design invites children into a colourful world where they can climb, slide, pretend, and explore.
The structure combines active play with creative storytelling. The upper level acts as a playful lookout balcony enclosed with safety netting, while the lower level features cosy arch openings and a small slide that encourages movement and discovery. Integrated climbing elements allow little adventurers to reach the mezzanine level, developing balance, coordination, and confidence through play.
At ground level, the café-inspired play counter creates a delightful role-play zone where children can “serve coffee”, interact with friends, and invent their own stories. Soft play flooring and gentle forms ensure a safe and comfortable environment for active play.
The design embraces natural wood textures combined with cheerful colours, creating a warm, inviting atmosphere that feels playful yet calm. Every detail was carefully considered to balance creativity, safety, and durability, resulting in a compact play feature that encourages both physical activity and imaginative play.
The project has been developed to comply with all relevant EU and UK safety regulations and standards.
